Since 1973 the Siena Rugby Club, both women and men's, has provided a refuge for strong individuals to grow academically, physically, and socially during their years in Loudonville, NY. The contributions that were made in the classroom, on the Rugby pitch, and to the Siena community as a whole stand unmatched. Today Siena Rugby Alumni continue that tradition.
2013 Siena Rugby Weekend Announcement
Please plan on joining us for another spectacular weekend of golf, rugby, and renewing old friendships at the Siena Rugby Alumni Weekend, May 3rd and 4th!
GOLF REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN APRIL 1 - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER!
This year our Siena Rugby Alumni Weekend will include several milestone events. First, our own Father Kevin Tortorelli will be honored after mass on Saturday with the dedication of a patio located in front of New Hall in his name. This is to recognize Father Kevin and all he has done for Siena College as well as to recognize the $50,000+ that was added to his scholarship as a result of his birthday celebration this past September. Siena’s President, Father Kevin Mullen, OFM will preside.
The second milestone is the 40th reunion of our original 1973 Men’s team. In addition, we’ll be recognizing the re-birth of the Women’s program celebrating ten years. There will be brief ceremonies before the games.
As usual our golf tournament will take place on Friday at the Fairways of Halfmoon Golf Course in Clifton Park. This will be an 11:00 shotgun start. Golfers can register online beginning April 1 at the http://sienarugbyalumni.kintera.org/golf using your Visa, MasterCard or AMEX! You can also print out the the registration form and mail in your payment. The deadline for registration is April 22, 2013. For any questions regarding the tournament call Joe McCrudden at 518-281-4276 or email Joe at jmccrudd@nycap.rr.com.
The Friday night social will take place at the Ruck in Troy, with mass, rugby, and the post-game gathering (this year at Daps) to follow on Saturday. The full schedule is available here. Given all of the happenings, you will not want to miss this year’s extravaganza! Discounted hotel accommodations have been set aside at LaQuinta in Latham and the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy.
The planning committee is still working out some of the details, including a possible gathering spot for Thursday night. To stay up to date with late-breaking developments be sure to "like" us on FaceBook! We discontinued our old FaceBook group to take advantage of features of FaceBook pages. Be sure to like us - the new page will provide a forum to connect with fellow alumni, make plans for the weekend, and post photos from weekend or from years past!
We will look forward to seeing you in May!
