Since 1973 the Siena Rugby Club, both women and men's, has provided a refuge for strong individuals to grow academically, physically, and socially during their years in Loudonville, NY. The contributions that were made in the classroom, on the Rugby pitch, and to the Siena community as a whole stand unmatched. Today Siena Rugby Alumni continue that tradition.
It’s time to make sure you have your plans set to include this year’s Golf Classic and and Rugby fest. The festivities begin on Friday, May 7th. Please take some time to reach out to a few old teammates and classmates that have not made the pilgrimage in the last few years and see if you can encourage them to partake in time well spent.
The annual golf tournament will be held on Friday, May 7th at the Fairways of Halfmoon Golf Course, Clifton Park, NY. This will be an 11:00 am SHOTGUN start.
Registration IS NOW OPEN at http://sienarugbyalumni.kintera.org/golf for the annual golf tournament. Registration will be first come, first served so please sign up early. We hit our limit last year and, unfortunately, had to turn a few folks away. If you are interested in playing golf make sure that you register online by April 21s. See our events page for the full weekend agenda.
For those traveling from out of town, The Hilton Garden Inn in Troy has rooms available for the Friday and Saturday night of Rugby Alumni Weekend. The rate is $99 per night for a single king bed or two queens. A shuttle service from the hotel to the Ruck and back will be provided, departing the hotel starting at around 9pm and three returning shuttles from the Ruck, the last departing downtown at 2am.
Scholarship and fundraising update: The scholarship fund in memory of Terence and Michael is up to $183,000 and, at this point, it’s funding two scholarships totaling $7,250 annually. In addition, we raised almost $13,000 at last year's golf tournament. Click here for a summary of the charitable organizations we supported with those funds. These are both great accomplishments, all due to the generosity of many of you who have attended and continue to attend year in and year out.
